Camden Splits with Bruceton

The Lady Lions brought home a hard-fought win over the Bruceton Lady Tiger last night, 62-46, while the Lions lost 70-57.

The Camden Lady Lions led from wire to wire in a bruising battle with Bruceton. Camden was up 15-7 at the end of one, and Head Coach Karen Cox kicked in the full-court pressure to start the second period. With 5:08 showing in the second, Anna Martin had a steal at midcourt and laid it in for two to make it 24-8, part of a 13-3 run! The pressure continued to take it's toll on the Lady Tigers and at the half-time buzzer, Sandra Farmer made a long skip pass to Savannah Cox. Savannah's layup stretched Camden's lead to twenty, 36-16 at the break. The refs let the game get away from them, and play was 'way too rough in the second half. Luckily, no players were hurt as the blocking, tackling, and hand-checking continued. Camden held the 20 point lead at the end of three, (55-35) and everyone on the CHS bench played in the game with a 62-46 final.
