Camden brings back two wins from Clarksburg

The JV Lions started the night at Clarksburg off right with a big win over the Clarksburg JV Rockets, 66-48. Congrats! The Lady Lions kept up the pace with a 50-26 victory that allowed everyone on the team to get into the action. The pace was set early with a relentless full-court press by the Lady Lions that helped leave a 13-6 Camden margin at the end of the first. The Lions held the Lady Rockets to one point in the 2nd, and it was 22-7 at the break. Coach Cox fired them up at the half, and the Lady Lions extended their lead to 21, 40-19 at the end of three. Everyone played valuable minutes in the second half and a total of ten players scored for Camden!

The Lady Lions will do battle with the Big Sandy Lady Red Devils tonight and the Milan Lady Bulldogs on Friday night, both games start at 6:30 PM at CHS gym.

The CHS Lions kept the winning trend going along and beat the Clarksburg Rockets 52-48. Camden grabbed the lead early. It was 21-9 at the end of the first period and 37-27 at the half. The Rockets came streaking back in the third period, thanks to tough defense and some cold shooting by the Lions. Brandon Sims rolled a hard-driving layup off the glass just as the 3rd period expired to tie it at 39. The 4th period was a dogfight, and the Lions cranked it up like a winning team has to! Josh Boyd threw in a free throw with 28 seconds left to ice it for the Lions, and Camden got a little revenge for last years defeat in the microscopic gym! Congrats to Coach Barry Martin and all of the Lions for some steady play against very aggressive pressure.
