Camden Splits with Dresden
The Camden Lions came home victorious over the Dresden Lions Monday night,
but the Lady Lions posted their first loss of 2003. The Lady Lions started
cold in their first game back...after beating the Dresden Lady Lions for
their last victory in 2002! Dresden led 19-8 after one, but the CHS Lady
Lions fought back to a two-point deficit at the half, 28-26 on Jenna Evans
put back score underneath at the buzzer. The third period was close, and
Dresden only managed a 37-33 lead with both teams working for the open
shot. The Dresden team had too much in the 4th, and even the world-famous
CHS Lady Lions press couldn't stop them. Dresden won 57-43.
Scoring was:
Carmen Medina - 14
Karen Farmer - 8
Jenna Evans - 7
Heather Dillon - 6
Lacey Cagle - 4
Brittany Berry - 3
Sandra Farmer - 1
Camden Lady Lions will take on the Huntingdon Lady Fillies tonight at CHS
gym. Plan to "eat supper with the Rebound Club" and be ready to support
the Lady Lions at the 6:30 PM tip-off.
GO LADY LIONS!
The CHS Lions continued their winning ways over Dresden with a 62-46
victory at their house. The Lions hit the floor running and jumped out to
an early lead. Jarrod Bain hit a jumper at the line to end the first
period to put Camden up 14-9. Brock Martin hit a "classic" half court
three point attempt just as the half-time buzzer sounded to allow Camden to
take a 23-17 advantage into the lockers. The Lions liked what Coach Barry
Martin had to say, and continued the attack after the break. With 40
seconds left in the third, Jarrod Bain threw down the two-hand slam and
made the foul shot to post a 45-31 margin and end the half 47-33. Camden
pushed the ball to Dresden all night, and the bench posted some valuable
minutes in the fourth to seal a 62-46 final score.
Scoring for the Lions:
Jarrod Bain - 21
Brock Martin - 21
Brian French - 9
Josh Boyd - 4
Brandon Sims - 2
Ben Reed - 2
Josh Guajardo - 2
Matthew Chandler 1
