Camden Splits Games with Milan
The Camden Lady Lions beat the Milan Lady Bulldogs Friday night in a
regional game at CHS gym, 50-34. Head Coach Karen Cox was able to sub deep
into the bench in the win, with ten players scoring for the Lady Lions.
The game was close early, and Milan had a 10-8 lead at the end of one with
the CHS basket ice cold. The Lady Lions opened the second with a
smothering full-court press, and it seemed to make the difference. The
Lady Lions took a 25-19 lead into the lockers, and the press continued in
the third to a 31-22 margin after three. Coach Cox allowed everyone to
play and the Lady Lions pressed to a 50-34 final score. A partial scoring
summary was available for the Lady Lions after the game:
Carmen Medina 14
Sandra Farmer 11
Karen Farmer 5
Anna Martin 5
Jenna Evans 4
Lacey Cagle 3
Brittany Berry 3
Heather Dillon 2
Savannah Cox 2
Erin Latendresse 1
The CHS Lions ran into a purple buzz-saw Friday night as the Milan Bulldogs
won 57-37. The Bulldogs looked as strong as the team that won the region
last year, with a great combination of hustle, speed, and accurate
shooting. The CHS Lions fought hard in the first period, and Milan led
13-10. The second period was all Milan with hustling defense and sharp
passes that resulted in open shots. The inside play of Ben Reed and Jarrod
Bain kept the Lions running, but it was all Milan after the break as they
finished with a 20 point win. Scoring for the Lions:
Ben Reed 15
Jarrod Bain 11
Brock Martin 6
Brandon Sims 3
Kyle Harris 2
The Camden Lions will do battle with the Dresden Lions tonight at CHS gym
following the Lady Lions game. Let's all come out and cheer the Lions on
to a victory!
