Camden brings two District 11-AA wins home from Riverside

The CHS basketball teams traveled down 641 to Parsons & beat up on Region 6 District 11 foe Riverside Tuesday night. The Lady Lions avenged a home loss by beating the Lady Panthers 59-18 at their house. The Lions continued to roll with a 60-39 victory over the Panthers.

The CHS Lady Lions won an important District 11-AA game over the Riverside Lady Panthers Tuesday night with a 59-18 road win. The Lady Lions remembered the upset four-point loss to Parsons at home on January 14th and came out of the chute smokin'! Camden led at half-time 25-9 and never looked back. The Lady Lions used the full-court press to perfection and stretched the lead to 26 on Anna Martin's three-pointer from the right side of the arc with 1:20 left in the third. The end of the third left Camden with a 44-12 score. Head Coach Karen Cox was able to keep the pressure up and get some playing time deep into the bench to finish with a 59-18 final. Ten players scored for the Lady Lions in this important victory!

Scoring for the Lady Lions:
Lacey Cagle 14
Carmen Medina 12
Anna Martin 11
Karen Farmer 5
Jenna Evans 5
Brittany Berry 3
Savannah Cox 3
Heather Dillon 2
Tammi Leslie 2
Melissa Guajardo 2

Carmen Medina and Sandra Farmer tied with 3 assists each, while Carmen controlled the middle with 5 blocked shots. Karen Farmer, Sandra Farmer, and Anna Martin each had 3 steals. Jenna Evans managed 4 rebounds against the Lady Panthers. The Lady Lions are in action again Friday night (7 Feb) against Bruceton at the CHS Gym at 6:30 PM. Come on out and cheer the Lady Lions on to a big "braggin' rights" victory over the Lady Tigers!

GO LADY LIONS!

The Camden Lions stretched their win streak to three games with a big Region 6, District 11-AA win over Riverside, 60-39. Jarrod Bain had a huge night, and his second-effort inside move off the glass for two ended the first period, 13-6 Lions. While the Panthers were trying to stop Jarrod, Ben Reed and Brock Martin knocked down double figures and kept the Panthers guessing all night. Brock went coast-to-coast to lay it in for two and take a 35-18 margin into the half-time locker room. The Panthers gave the paint up to the Lions where Reed and Bain were unstoppable. Jarrod threw it down over the top of a Panther and made the whistled "intentional" foul shot with 10.2 seconds left to allow the Lions to cruise to a 60-39 win.

Scoring for the Lions:
Jarrod Bain 27
Ben Reed 15
Brock Martin 13
Brian French 3
Brandon Sims 2

The Lions will be at home on Friday night (7 Feb) playing Bruceton immediately following the Lady Lions game. Come on out & eat supper with the Rebound Club and cheer the Lions on to a "next-door" victory!
